Polaris Slingshot Ceramic Coated Dual Rear Exit Exhaust System by Thermal R&D
Every once in a great while a product is released for the Polaris Slingshot that absolutely blows our minds. This dual rear exit touring exhaust system from Thermal Research & Development is one of them! This is the first exhaust system for the Polaris Slingshot that checks all the boxes. It's ceramic coated from top to bottom, which insulates the exhaust heat, vastly reducing cabin foot well and trans tunnel temperatures, making it the most comfortable rear exit exhaust system we've tested to date. The entire system is built from 304 mandrel bent stainless steel and tucks in the trans tunnel so that you don't lose ground clearance. The exhaust system features custom billet aluminum exhaust hangars for the rear end and a trans tunnel mount with polyurethane bushings for the center support along with a center slip joint to allow for vast temperature variations. Most importantly, the tips run low to the ground and shoot out of both the left and right corners of the vehicle, making this the first dual exit exhaust system that is compatible with all of our rear fenders and luggage systems. It's also the first rear exit exhaust system that had zero emissions smell in the cabin. If you're looking for the creme de la creme of exhaust systems, with a perfectly balanced "drone free" exhaust note throughout the RPM band, that's backed with a Lifetime Warranty... Thermal R&D is the choice for you!

BETTER than hoped for!
Installed a new exhaust system and header on the Slingshot two weeks ago, and a chance to drive it for a couple of hours this past weekend. The new system is AWESOME! Sound has a deep growl when getting on the gas, and it is quieter when cruising than the OEM system! Also the uncomfortable heat is GONE from the passenger floorboard.

Overall I am VERY PLEASED with the SlingMods Thermal R&D Ceramic Coated Dual Rear Exit Touring Exhaust System and the 1320 Performance V1 Stainless Steel Header. It is one of the more expensive systems on the market, but the old saying “You get what you pay for” really applies here! I would recommend this exhaust system and Header to anyone, and with their EXCELLENT customer service and technical support, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND SlingMods for any mods to your Slingshot!

Thank you SlingMods

rear dual exhaust
Look and sound great. It feels like the Slingshot can breath better and is more responsive.
There seems to be a small drone noise around 2000rpms. Not a big deal

positive buy
Im writing because i brought the side exhaust it great on sound for me plus i kept the cat in so the sound is not as loud
So if you have bigger tire and rims like me which i have 22 all around the side exhaust is a great way to go and the ground clearance is perfect
i had a shop to do my exhaust so i cannot tell you about the install at all
i do have a tall windshield F4+5 which the fumes coming in is very small to me. Now that i decide to cover all the whole so i do not get the fumes anymore
Very happy with this system and the grrrrrrrr at 75 mph bring smile to your very face

the sound you want to hear.
i tried a side exhaust system, but i'm not 24 anymore. sounded great but way to loud for me. this system went on sale for $999 and i jumped on it. the tone is deep and mellow. you can carry on a conversation at normal volume, the sound (awesome) is behind you where it belongs. put your foot into it and it just gets better. no drone, a nicely tuned exhaust system that REALLY should be a factory option. if not a standard unit. i did install the 1320 header but kept the stock cat. the installation was done on jack stands and went well. the installation video helped and the system sounds better in person. if your on the fence with this system because of the cost, it's worth the money. ordered and received it within a week.

like it
I had the local dealership install mine, they did it in two hours so the cost was well worth having it for me. I like the exhaust but there are a couple issues to consider with it and most important is if you have a tall windshield and roof exhaust will enter the cabin from the rear and this is an issue not commented on in any of the reviews I seen, a rear wind deflector solved this issue, next it is much louder than oem despite what the comments are be prepared, I almost need earplugs. with that said the faster driven or higher rpms it is not as loud, yes I said that correct! clearance is not an issue for me. one thing I may do is try to find a high flow cat, since I removed the oem for better airflow the fumes can be a little strong but still not a big deal with the rear deflector, overall very happy with it and no droning but again much louder when stepping on the throttle.

SlingMods Response:
Hello Pooldude, thanks for the review. I thought worth mentioning that both of the issues you mentioned in regards to the vortex of fumes coming back into the cabin and the louder than expected sound is because you removed the factory cat. This system was designed and tuned for use with the OE cat. If you put that OE cat back in the fumes are not an issue and the purr of the exhaust will be a nice mellow growl. Thanks!
