One of the things that may catch your eye once you pop your Polaris Slingshot hood, is the rust-bucket exhaust manifold that comes stock on your Slingshot. If you "do not" plan to upgrade to an aftermarket header and want to add some love to your engine bay, this Stainless Steel Heat Shield by DDMWorks is an excellent way to do this. It comes with all the hardware needed to fasten the heat shield in place and adds immediate beauty to your engine bay. This product not only adds looks but protects your hood by blocking radiant heat from your factory exhaust manifold.

Heat shield
The only thing that could been better, was the finish. I had to buy stainless steel compound and buffed it out.

No more rusted looking exhaust manifold
I finally took the plunge, so I decided to by DDM Works heat shield. I got tired of looking at stock rusted manifold and good way to control some of the heat that is created from not having the shield there.
So install was very easy!!! After I put 4 coats of F11 Formula on heat shield then proceeded with the installation. Put the bar that is mounted to the engine first as per instructions. The long bolt that tightens the heat shield is last and a little trickier to line up and install. Just visually check all other bolts beforehand so the last long bolt installs with ease.
Thanks to DDMWorks for making excellent shield that is of excellent quality!!!!!!

The heat shield covers the rusty exhaust manifold which detracted from the rather clean looking engine. It also keeps the hood cooler, my cats have taken residence on the warm hood but it is no longer as warm as they like it. Hey you can't keep everyone happy, they'll just need to find another place to crash.
