THE MANUAL SHIFTER BOOT FIT AS ADVERTISED - I WOULD BUY AGAIN FROM SLING MODS

The boot is nice quality. However, not as simple as you might guess to install. The original boot is held together with staples; you cannot staple the new one in with a regular or commercial stapler. I ended up using Gorilla Glue and spring paper clamps. that worked great. When reassembling the locking ring presented another challenge. Remove the threads from the top of the boot, un-roll the vinal. in cert it the ring under the shift knob, you will need a very small flat head screwdriver to push it all the way down. Push the locking ring in place by hand, then, by using a vise open the jaws just enough to allow the shift rod to slide between the jaws, but not the plastic ring, it will sit on the jaws. Hit the top of the knob with your fist and "Bingo" its locked. Make sure the mount tapers to the top, or it will be backwards. I had to recenter mine, took me two-minute once I knew how that little trick. NOTE: make sure the one of the three opening on the locking ring straddles the allen guide on the ring just below the shift knob. Enjoy!
