Can-Am Spyder RT Belt Tensioner / Idler
One of the issues we've noticed with the Can-Am Spyder RT is that belt vibration occurs when the Spyder drivetrain is under load. Some examples of when belt vibration may occur are when you're riding with a passenger, climbing a steep incline or pulling a trailer. The Spyder Extras Billet Aluminum Belt Tensioner drastically reduces belt vibration by applying smooth spring loaded tension to the drive belt. This RT tensioner is 2" longer than the factory plastic Can-Am idler for superior damping. This tensioner also features Dual Sealed Duty Roller Bearings and an Oilite Bronze Bushing at the pivot point for smooth, non binding operation. All mounting hardware is included for a straight forward installation.

Shouldn’t the belt tensioner go on the bottom pushing up on the belt ( Ellis Greathouse, 10/23/2018 11:03 am )
Hello Ellis, the belt tension is set to factory specs. The vibration is harmonic and comes from the top of the belt under power at 60-75 mph because the belt is so long, even under load. That top vibration is a fast vibration and the tensioner smooths out that rapid vibration at the 60-75 mph speeds. This belt Tensioner is not meant to keep the belt tight like standard auto Tensioners. The belt is set to the correct tightness based on the adjustment of the rear wheel.

Much Better Than The Others
I had similar a product installed from another vendor, but it did nothing to stop the vibration. Big wast of money. Tried this product on a recommendation. Glad I did. This product has eliminated 95% of my vibration on my 2014 Spyder RTS.

What a difference
Had mine installed by the dealership. Boy what a difference it’s so smooth, now not sure why I waited so long. Vibration virtually gone at all speeds.

Great investment
I was having this annoying belt shake when riding on the highway at 55mph and higher and also going uphill. I was referred to Slingmods for this belt tensioner and I must say that I am very pleased. It was a quick and easy install and now my highway rides are much more enjoyable since the belt shake is about 95% gone. I would highly recommend purchasing one for your Spyser.
