Aftermarket Seats for your Can-Am Spyder F3 by Ultimate
What connects you and your passenger to your trike is literally your seat! It’s one of the most important upgrades you can make to your Spyder if you plan on doing any type of serious riding, whether that be ripping through the canyons or riding cross country. Having an uncomfortable seat while riding is like having an uncomfortable mattress to sleep on, it wears on your body over time making the ride uncomfortable and far less enjoyable. To address this issue, we’ve partnered up with Ultimate Seats, these guys have been custom building seats specifically for the Can-am Spyder since the very beginning. Their seats offer a number of benefits in comparison to the stock seat!
Base Pan
The base pan is the foundation of any seat. The stock seat uses a flexible “abs” plastic, while the Ultimate Seat uses an Injection molded foam reinforced fiberglass base so that the seat base doesn’t flex under spirited riding.
Memory Foam
The seat cushion itself is injection molded from high density memory foam. This high density foam allows the seat to not only maintain its original shape, but acts as a suspension system while riding. Once you sit on the foam, the seat provides the perfect balance of both support and comfort making for the perfect ride. Once you complete your ride the seat restores back to its original state, creating the perfect balance of both form and function.
Material
Each seat is hand stitched to order and made with premium Marine Vinyl. We have several vinyl color options on our website allowing you to order seats that perfectly compliment the color scheme of your Spyder.
Seat Design
The Ultimate Seat is designed with a “nose up angle” and is cupped “side to side”, so that you sit “in” the seat, not “on” it. It also features an expansion joint, this allows the lower seat to move independently from the lower back support to prevent pressure on your tailbone. These design improvements may seem subtle but they drastically increase the stability of your seating position under spirited riding. The seats also feature “two” different options in regards to your “distance from the bars”. The first option is the “MidRider”, which keeps your seating position exactly the same as stock. The other option is the “Tall Boy” which is intended for riders that feel cramped in the stock riding position and need more room to stretch out both their arms and legs. Please note that if you go with the “tall boy” option you’re reducing your passenger space by 1.5” because of your new stretched seating position.
Lower Back Support
If you’ve ridden your Spyder F3 for any respectable amount of time, you’ll know that lower back support is an absolute must. So we have an “optional” Driver backrest that allows for more than 2” of horizontal adjustment as well as a “pivoting angle” that allows you to fine tune the back support pad where you want it. When it’s time for your passenger to mount or dismount the Spyder, the driver backrest folds down and out of the way allowing them to swing a leg over for easy mounting and dismounting. Lastly, the driver backrest features a “passenger protection pad” so that under hard deceleration your passenger’s private parts are protected with some cushion.
Now if you’re running a spyder model that didn’t come equipped with a rear trunk, like the F3/F3S/F3T models, we also have an optional “passenger backrest” that features more than 2” of horizontal adjustment as well as a “pivoting angle” adjusting the angle of the pad to your passengers back angle. This rear backrest is also easily removable when not in use.
If you’re running a spyder F3 model that “did” come equipped with the “factory rear trunk”, like the later F3 Limited models, than we have an “optional” rear backrest cover so that you can keep the look of your new Ultimate Seats flowing throughout your F3 for a streamlined look.
