Polaris Slingshot Headers
A header is an integral part of the exhaust process that works in tandem with the engine and exhaust system. The purpose of a header is to collect the exhaust expelled from the engine and carry it to the exhaust system without interrupting air flow. Improving the air flow from the engine will decrease backpressure and thereby decrease the workload of the pistons. This will in turn provide greater gains in horsepower to the Slingshot as well as improve fuel efficiency. Aftermarket headers usually improve air flow with larger pipes and well tuned geometry that maximizes performance without becoming heavy or cumbersome to the rest of the Slingshot.
