Polaris Slingshot Aluminum Hood Vents by DDMWorks
During high speed and wind tunnel testing on the Polaris Slingshot, a high pressure area in the wheel well was discovered that creates lift on the hood of the Slingshot at speed. The DDMWorks hood vents were designed expressly to help relieve this high pressure area, reducing lift on the hood, creating more front end stability at speed. The unique design of the vents has a similar pattern to those found in the rear view mirror supports and the cutouts in the fenders, making the hood vents look like an OE piece once installed. Our DDMWorks hood vents are CNC laser cut from rust proof, 6061 Aluminum and then finished is a ultra durable powder coated finish in your choice of popular Polaris Slingshot colors. The kit includes all stainless steel hardware needed for installation and as well as full color instructions, ensuing a great looking setup for years to come.

Follow up to previous review:

Previous post mentioning distance from hood stripe to vent leading edge was an “eye ball” estimate. Actual distance is 2 inches

Outstanding mod! Very well made. Truly represents style and function!

Heads up, though. You will need to cut outside the ‘similarly shaped’ template on the hood’s substructure quite a bit for this modification, and the leading edges of the vents will run approximately 2.5 to 3 inches from the larger hood stripes as indicated from the advertised pic... not 1.25 inches as indicated in the supplied directions. After drilling the initial holes, I found a small reciprocating saw and Dremel worked best for my install, and I’ve fabricated painted mesh screens to cover and accent the vent openings.

You’ll have amazing results once you’re able to get over the fear of chopping your hood for this install!
